Projects: Go-Kart

I have two projects on-going at the moment, ignoring study towards MS qualifications, one of which is building a go-kart.
For several years the kid in me has been wanting to build a Go-Kart and am finally in a position to do so money/space/time wise.
After some research, I ordered in approx $500 worth of parts from MFGSupply in the States with the intention of building a one from scratch, using a 5.5HP Briggs and Stratton engine. There seems to be a dearth in go-kart/parts suppliers in NZ. Trademe has been quite handy, but is dependant on what others decide to sell.
This original plan to build from scratch changed as I found an old Go-Kart for sale on TradeMe that had 90cc engine, wheels and axles - things I still hadn’t obtained. I spent a week sanding down the frame, coated it with anti-rust primer and several layers of metallic red/blue [...]
